He worked in the Ministry of Magic.He was at the top of the Tower of Astronomy when Severus Snape killed Albus Dumbledore. Later, he casts the Imperius Curse against Pius Thicknesse, leader of the Department of Magical Law. That makes easier to take over the Ministry of Magic, and the Death Eathers and Voldemort get to kill Rufus Scrimgeour and become Thicknesse the new Minister. Dolores Umbrige and he organize the Commision of Registration of Muggle-borns and he nearly catches Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger when they get in the new Ministry of Magic. Accidentally, he discovers the emplacement of Grimmauld Place, no longer being a safe place. Later, he participates in the Battle of Hogwarts and is defeated by Ronald Weasley, being presumably arrested.
