Noah was the personal assistant of Officer Dawn Lerner at Grady Memorial Hospital. Noah was a ward, which was a healed patient who works at the hospital in exchange for the resources used to heal him or her. Noah befriends Beth when she arrives at Grady and has her run-ins with Dawn.Noah bonds with Beth when she tells him that she is going to leave the hospital when she has healed. Noah tells her that that's not how things worked at Grady, and proceeds to tell Beth that then he and his father were brought into Grady after the outbreak, Dawn told his father that only one of them could be treated. His father sacrificed himself so that Noah could be treated. Noah later figured out that Dawn had his father killed because his father bigger, stronger, and would fight back whereas Noah was smaller and weaker. Noah then tells Beth that most people underestimate him at the hospital, and that he was going to escape. Beth later agrees to escape with him.Noah and Beth escape down an empty elevator shaft, but Beth was captured when she was trying to fight off walkers, while Noah made it through the fence. Noah later encounters Daryl and Carol in a nearby office building, and takes their weapons at gunpoint while setting free some walkers trapped in a tent in order to slow down Daryl and Carol's pursuit. Noah gets trapped beneath a bookcase when Daryl and Carol find him and reclaim their weapons. Daryl takes his cigarettes for good measure. Walkers are trying to get into the room and Daryl leaves him trapped beneath the bookcase while a walker enters, all the while Carol is screaming for Daryl to help Noah. Finally, Daryl comes around and shoots the walker in the head with his crossbow. Noah goes to the window and tells them that teh cops from the hospital heard the shots and are on their way to the building. Daryl realizes he's talking about Grady and asks if he knows a blonde girl. You mean Beth? Noah answers. He realizes that Daryl and Carol also know Beth.Noah leads them out of the building and holds Daryl back when Carol is hit by the car of one of the cops. He restrains Daryl and explains that there is a good doctor, equipment, and medicine to treat Carol, if she can survive but if Daryl rushes out there to kill the cops, Carol may die from her injuries with no one to help her. Noah then goes with Daryl to gather Rick and the rest of the group from the church, so they can rescue Beth.Noah is later seen helping the others board up the church windows. He goes back with the group to rescue Beth, and agrees to return to Dawn when she requests it, even though Rick told her Noah wasn't part of their exchange deal.In the aftermath of Beth's death, Noah tells Rick that Beth was going to come with him to his family's walled community in Richmond, Virginia. The group agree to accompany Noah to his home. Once they arrive, they are saddened to find the community burned out and overrun with walkers. Noah is comforted by Tyreese, who tells him, You'll be with us, now. Noah then runs away from him to his house. Tyreese clears the house for him and lets him in. While Noah covers the body of his mother, Tyreese looks around and ends up bitten by one of Noah's younger twin brothers, who had turned. Noah hears Tyreese's scream and enters the room; he stabs his turned brother in the head with a toy. He runs to get the others and they all manage to carry Tyreese back through the woods to the van, killing walkers along the way. Tyreese dies on the way back to the rest of the group and Noah, who is now a member of the group, accompanies them all to Washington, DC. Show less «
