A pizza delivery man before the undead outbreak, Glenns knowledge of the streets of Atlanta turns out to be an invaluable asset to the group of survivors. Beyond that, Glenn continues to be the groups main gatherer of supplies, often venturing away from the relative safety of camp to fetch food and medicine. He is brave, kind, loyal and willing to take calculated risks that put him in personal peril for the greater good of the group. He is also optimistic, even if the face of so much death and destruction. Glenn first bonds with Dale, helping the older man care for the survivors RV and listening closely to Dales insistence of remaining civilized at all costs. Later, he discovers romantic feelings for Maggie and, on her fathers (mostly) bucolic farm, the two begin the early stages of an often awkward, but always sweet courtship.Glenns good nature and optimistic worldview is eventually challenged by the actions of the Governor, who threatens his life as well as the life of Maggie. Glenn, now with more to lose in his life, becomes a more hardened, but no less honorable person. In fact, he becomes looked to for leadership of the survivors at moments when Rick is indisposed or incapable.
