Arrow is based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, a costumed crime-fighter. Season 1 premiered on The CW on October 10, 2012. The series focus on Oliver Queen, billionaire playboy, who spends 5 years shipwrecked on a mysterious island. Showing all facets of the mysterious loner, this realistic drama follows the charismatic but shallow Oliver that disappeared, the hardened Oliver that returned and the Oliver that has been forged into the weapon against injustice known as... 'the Arrow'.
Home Invasion' boasts a strong villain, satisfying episodic arcs for Oliver, Tommy and Diggle, plus decent character moments for the likes of Laurel and sidekick-in-the-making Roy Harper.
"Home Invasion" mostly just restates the points about Oliver's destructive behavior that "Unfinished Business" already made more eloquently, but it at least moves us a lot closer to the endgame as Oliver's inner circle deteriorates like never before.
Thankfully, the development of Roy Harper's need to repay the Hood for saving his life, and Yao Fei's insistence that Oliver's time on the island is at an end, help to give the episode some much needed spark.
While "Home Invasion" rallies hard to a strong finish, a good half of the episode is a reminder that we could all use a a break from "case of the week" Arrow.
