Arrow is based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, a costumed crime-fighter. Season 1 premiered on The CW on October 10, 2012. The series focus on Oliver Queen, billionaire playboy, who spends 5 years shipwrecked on a mysterious island. Showing all facets of the mysterious loner, this realistic drama follows the charismatic but shallow Oliver that disappeared, the hardened Oliver that returned and the Oliver that has been forged into the weapon against injustice known as... 'the Arrow'.
As ever with this series, you have to watch with your tongue planted firmly in your cheek, but with action worthy of a big-screen blockbuster and a refreshing dollop of humour, 'Dodger' is a top-notch Arrow outing.
It's no coincidence that the two best episodes of the series so far - last week's and tonight's - have featured the three best characters: Oliver, Diggle and yes, Felicity.
This week's episode, "Dodger," was the one where Smoak not only blew past my curmudgeonly reservations, but made a case for her being the most vital missing piece in Arrow's puzzle.
"Dodger" returns to the usual 'Arrow' format of a more timely story undercut with smaller island flashbacks, but thankfully doesn't dip all too much in quality.
