He comes across as friendly and folksy, although a little off.Like any good fearmonger, Steve's beliefs come from his own repressed issues and traumatic past. In the second season, Jason Stackhouse becomes interested in his church, which also is mixed up in the disappearance of Eric Northman's ancient maker, Godric.Background: His father Theodore Newlin was also a prominent anti-vampire crusader and Steve is determined to carry on his father's vampire eradication mission. He is married to Sarah Newlin, although he seems blind to the fact she is not happy in their marriage.
