In the first season, he investigates a series of murders and narrows in on Jason Stackhouse as a suspect, even though the evidence against him is not strong.Andy wants to be good as his job, but isn't always. He feels he does not get the respect he deserves from the people of Renard Parish, who see him as just Andy, which can lead him to dig in on his hunches. He feels like an outsider among the people of Bon Temps because of his job.Despite his grumpiness and chip on his shoulder, he is generally accepting of his town's supernatural citizens.Background: He works under Sheriff Bud Dearborne.His cousin Terry Bellefleur is an Iraq war veteran who is having difficulty adapting to life back home. The Bellefleur family is very wealthy and he and his sister Portia grew up well. He was partially raised by his grandmother after his father died and his mother ran off with a race car driver.
