Stan is described as young Cockney with a pimply face, large ears, and wearing a purple uniform. In the Half-Blood Prince, the Ministry of Magic jails Stan as a suspected Death Eater. Professor Dumbledore and Harry do not believe the charges and argue unsuccessfully for his release. The book insinuates the Ministry continued to imprison Stan so they can appear to be making progress in the fight against Voldemort. In the Deathly Hallows, Stan is found fighting with the Death Eaters, apparently under the Imperius Curse.
