Gemma Teller has been connected to SAMCRO all her adult life, first married to John Thomas JT Teller when he was president and now to current president Clay Morrow. She met John Teller, a Vietnam War veteran and founder of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, in 1978, after leaving home in 1975 and became pregnant two months later. Her son Jackson Jax Teller was born in 1978 and his brother Thomas was born in 1984, though he later died of a congenital heart defect when he was six. Gemma bears a scar on her chest from heart surgery and passed the defect on to Jax and his son, Abel. After John was hit by a semi-truck and died in 1993, she married John's friend Clay Morrow.
