Teague Sparrow, Jack Sparrow's father, is a member of the Fourth (and possibly a former member of the Third) Bretheren Court of the Pirates. Although he is not an official Pirate Lord (such as Sao Feng, Hector Barbossa, etc.), he is Keeper of the Code (aka. the Pirates' Code ; the laws and conduct, or as Barbossa likes to call them, guidelines by which pirates must follow) and is very revered by other pirates of the Court. He is only seen in the series' third installment, At World's End , where he first shown giving insight into one of the Code's many rules. He is later asked by his son, How's mum? . In reply, Teague pulls out a shrunken head, obviously showing that mum's not doing too well. (Jack's response was, She looks great... )Nothing is actually known about Teague's life before the Fourth Bretheren Court, except that Jack left him at an early age because he was ashamed that his father was a pirate. (Little did Jack know that he would soon follow in his father's footsteps.)Teague is last seen throwing off his hat in celebration of his son's (and William Turner's) victory against Cutler Beckett and Davy Jones.(Teague Sparrow is a fictional character portrayed by Keith Richards in the Disney film, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End )(Keith Richards will reprise his role as Teague Sparrow in the fourth installment of the Disney franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides )
