Starring Debra Messing, Jack Davenport and Katharine McPhee, the series follows a group of theater enthusiasts in their attempt to bring to Broadway a new 'smash' musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe titled Bombshell.
I would gladly pay $75 for an orchestra seat to see the show-within-a-show. The way things are going, I would pay $100 if the purchase exempted me from having to watch any more of the show itself.
Smash is to Glee as Broadway is to community theatre. You can enjoy the latter and have a blast seeing it, but it's not the same as a production like this one that really hums on every professional level.
