He is also headstrong and stubborn and fond of getting his own way. Derek and Tom often butt heads because of their creative temperaments.Derek also has a reputation as a lothario and especially for hooking up with the leading ladies of his productions.According to Playbill Derek is the winner of two Olivier Awards for productions of Greater Title and Uncle Vanya. His Broadway credits include Greater Title, The Full Monty, Sweet Charity, Ella, Uncle Vanya, Tip of the Hat, Hairspray, Judgment, Wit, and A Doll's House. His credits in the West End include Loose Cannon, Slipstream. His Off-Broadway/Regional credits include The Seagull (BAM); Truth/Consequences (Playwrights' Horizons); Derek's independent film credits include First of May (New Line) and Home for Good (Lionsgate). For the small screen, he has directed several BBC specials and a Mustang commercial, plus episodes of Brothers and Sisters, United States of Tara, Lights Out and Awake. Derek is an adjunct professor of directing at LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art). A son of South London, Derek attended Cambridge University. Show less «
