Tyra Collette is Dillon High School's resident bad girl. She's quite popular and fairly promiscuous -- and has a pretty intense dislike of Lyla Garrity. Tyra is the daughter of Angela Collette, who is single and has her own issues -- including an affair with Lyla's father, Buddy Garrity. Tyra also has an older sister, Mindy, who works as a stripper. Tyra, too, isn't shy about using her looks to get her way or make some cash. Underneath it all, though, she seems to want to shed this image.Early in the series, she befriends Julie Taylor -- the daughter of Eric and Tami Taylor -- much to their chagrin, but soon enough Tami and Tyra make a connection and Tami becomes personally invested in help Tyra turn things around for herself and find her future outside of Dillon.Tyra, who shows little to no interest in Dillon High School football, has an on-again, off-again relationship with fullback Tim Riggins, and her dislike for Lyla only increases when she learns that Tim and Lyla have hooked up. Landry Clarke, meanwhile, has an intense crush on Tyra and will do virtually anything to get her attention and make her want him.
