Tim Riggins is the fullback of the Dillon High School Panthers high school football team in West Texas. He is a star player and has the potential to be great, but has some personal issues that threaten to interrupt his success on the field and as a leader on the sidelines. Tim was a good friend of start quarterback Jason Street and was devastated when Street suffered a life-threatening spinal injury that took him off the field for good and left him paralyzed in the lower half of his body.Tim has a troubled relationship with his father and essentially gets through his days by drinking heavily and having lots of sex with many different girls, engaging in relationships with Tyra Collette and Lyla Garrity, among others. He's a bit of a womanizer.Despite his rugged and foreboding exterior, its clear that Tim has a soft, caring heart and just needs some work to bring it out. Hes deeply proud of where hes from, known for saying, Texas forever, and it seems that if he is going to figure out which direction his life will take, it becomes increasingly clear that it is going to stay in his home state.
