Ralph Wiggum is the eight-year-old son of Clancy and Sarah Wiggum. He is in Miss Hoover's third grade class along with Lisa Simpson, whom he assumed fell in love with him one Valentine's Day when she erased her name from a card that said I Choo-Choo-Choose You and wrote his name on it (in the episode I Love Lisa). Ralph is very nice and well-meaning, but he lacks social skills and basic common sense. He picks his nose to the point where it bleeds, has trouble controlling his bladder, and even eats things that are not edible; one time he made a crayon sandwich with thumbtacks and submitted the recipe to a bake-off. Naturally, they turned it down.Ralph is very sensitive; he sleeps with an extremely bright nightlight and often gets upset and cries for one of his parents when someone yells at him or scares him. He also makes bizarre, non-sequitur statements without realizing their absurdity (i.e. My cat's breath smells like cat food ). His father, who is chief of police in Springfield, has apparently received many offers to send him to a special school. When he saw Bart accidentally ride through the town naked on a skateboard in The Simpsons Movie, he declared I like men now. In spite of all this, he does have some considerable acting talent, which he demonstrated when he portrayed George Washington in the school play; he also played Sir Lancelot in the school production of Camelot, a performance Marge Simpson considered definitive. Unfortunately, he blew the audition for the role of Fallout Boy in the movie version of Radioactive Man, when he asked Lunchlady Doris, who was giving him a cue, what was for lunch.
