Tyler is great at portraying defiance and rage through soft-spoken words and small eye movements. I loved how she alternated between disdainful skepticism and wounded hope in her scene with Isaac.
[Meg's] character is driven by all these contradictions, but instead of that turning her into some kind of twitchy lunatic she's a spooky void who let ideology take the wheel.
The Leftovers is magical. Not only in the sense that it flirts with magical realism and whimsical ideas, but also in the sense that its narrative sleight-of-hand tricks are unparalleled.
"Ten Thirteen" unveiled a threat possibly more potent than what caused Season 1's fiery finale. More importantly, it gave proper motivation to our villain.
