Marilyn Swick's passion and creativity for film have been the fundamental drive in every avenue of her life. As a teenage model and actress in Columbus, Ohio, she appeared in commercial print ads and then moved into theatrical performances. Today, she is an accomplished producer, director, writer and SAG-AFTRA film and television actress.Since she was very young, she has been passionate about equestrian competition, competing in both English and Western events. She is proud to have won three of the coveted AQHA World Championship trophies. In addition to her horses, Marilyn also breeds & shows Doberman Pinschers. Her two very sweet and devoted Grand Champions are often given a role in her films and yes, even have their own talent agent.Marilyn attended the New York Film Academy and earned her Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, gaining a valuable perspective of our society today and how we have sculpted our environment through our beliefs and actions. This is an invaluable education applicable to countless aspects in life, relationships, business and quite notably, the film industry.Marilyn, a nationally board registered Sleep Medicine Technologist and her husband, Todd Swick, MD, a world-renowned Sleep Medicine Neurologist have used their combined knowledge of sleep medicine and her skills as a film-maker to write and produce two projects; REM and Sixteen Sunrises & Sunsets, that delve into the world of Sleep Medicine Disorders. The films have received fantastic reviews and multiple awards in the film festival circuit.Marilyn has written, directed and produced multiple award winning projects in the film festival circuits with more on the horizon. Actors Anonymous, a comedy web-series followed in 2016, and Mermaids Among Us, a love story that goes into production in the spring of 2017.She is a long-standing member of Women In Film and Television of Houston, serving on the Executive Board the last several years as Secretary and most recently as Vice-President. A proud SAG-AFTRA member, she has volunteered on several local Houston committees including the SWAN Awards and the annual SAG Awards local viewing parties.
