Riverdale - Season 2 Episode 17: Chapter Thirty: The Noose Tightens
Let's set Riverdale's core characters aside this week and focus our attention on Cheryl Blossom - and maybe the most beautiful image this show has given us so far.
[Madelaine] Petsch's performance is the only component that really seems to acknowledge how serious this all is. And for that, she certainly deserves praise.
Veronica, Toni, and Kevin saving Cheryl was the highlight. They risked danger, and the possibility of being captured themselves, to save their friend in the depths of that hospital.
This week's theme is righting wrongs and by the end of the episode we're almost lulled into a sense of calm, but the beauty of Riverdale is: the ending is just the beginning... and gets you even more excited for the next episode to come.
Sometimes it's far too much, other times it's not enough, and in the case of tonight's episode, I'd say they channeled Goldilocks and got it "just right."
Riverdale is still kind of terrible for many reasons but I have great news: Alice Cooper had a mammoth of an episode with Wednesday's installment, "Chapter Thirty: The Noose Tightens."
