Riverdale - Season 2 Episode 07: Chapter Twenty: Tales from the Darkside
I loved the story structure of "Chapter Twenty: Tales From the Darkside." Riverdale has always been direct with its story from beginning to end. This was the first time where the structure was presented as something new. I think it worked perfectly.
This episode is genuinely scary, while also being funny and fascinating-and despite playing with the structure, it still manages to make the episode integral to the plot.
Ever since Riverdale's second season decided to lean much more heavily on the thriller "whodunnit" aspect of the series, I've been waiting for an episode like tonight's.
There's no time for apologist storytelling when it comes to abusers, but it would be interesting to see the show depict someone's journey towards actual change.
You heard it here first: I think it's going to be a show about superheroes. Or, like, as close to a superhero as human lump of room temperature Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) can get.
