Tiera Skovbye was born in Vancouver, Canada. She comes from a Scandinavian background and most of her extended family reside in Sweden and Denmark.She began her acting career at the age of seven when she was spotted by an agent at the Children's Festival in Vancouver. After several commercial bookings, Tiera eventually landed her first lead role in a series of children's DVDs by Warner Home Entertainment entitled "McKid's Adventures". This gradually led to roles in such hit shows as Supernatural (2005), Kaya (2007), The Troop (2009), Wingin' It (2010), "The Haunting Hour" and Spooksville (2013).More recently Tiera booked her first lead role in a pilot, playing Sam Turner in the CBC pilot "Wishing Well". This was followed by the lead role of Raven in the Lifetime movie Forever 16 (2013), and the role of Mia in the CW pilot "Blink".Given her height and natural beauty, Tiera was scouted by an international modeling agency in 2008, having just turned 13 years old. She has since modeled in a string of campaigns for various designers and photographers and it has taken her around the globe, including North America, Asia and Europe. She has also had fashion editorials in several magazine,s including "Elle Canada", "Wedding Bells", "Plaid", "Chloe" and "Elle China".Tiera has always had a love for theatre and has studied many of the plays of William Shakespeare at Bard on the Beach, working with an impressive array of acting coaches and mentors. She has played the role of Elizabeth in an adaptation of Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" at the Waterfront Theatre on Granville Island.She has also trained extensively at a number of top acting schools in Vancouver, most notably Kate Twa at Railtown Actors Studio.As Tiera continues to study and wholeheartedly pursue acting, she hopes to one day end up in Los Angeles, living the dream as a full-time actor.
