Sandra Beeman is the wife of FBI Agent Stan Beeman, who has recently returned from a multi-year assignment infiltrating a white supremacist group and is having trouble reintegrating into society and his relationship. Sandra, who has longed for a regular life with her husband and has spent years raising their son virtually, if not literally, on her own, becomes more and more frustrated with her inability to connect with her husband and his apparent disinterest in re-establishing any connection. Sandra all too easily shares her personal and relationship problems, particularly with Elizabeth Jennings, a new neighbor across the street from the house Sandra, Stan and their teenage son Matthew recently moved into. Sandra has no idea that Elizabeth is a KGB agent who has been spying on the U.S. government for years.
