Zoë Winters grew up in Santa Cruz, California. She moved East to attend SUNY Purchase College Conservatory of Acting where she received her BFA and was granted the Dean's Award for Acting. In 2016 New York audiences saw Winters perform in "The Harvest" at LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater, "Small Mouth Sounds" at Signature Theatre and "Red Speedo" at NYTW. In the New York Times' "Memorable Theater of 2016," Elisabeth Vincentelli wrote: "Give this girl a vehicle already! Zoë Winters shined as an efficient sports therapist in "Red Speedo," a peppily manipulative religious leader in "The Harvest" and a hot mess grouchily attending a silent retreat in "Small Mouth Sounds." While this team player strives in ensembles, her droll humor and Swiss-quality timing make her ready for a lead." Ms. Winters is also familiar to New York audiences from her performances in Lincoln Center's "Shows for Days," "Much Ado About Nothing" at The Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park, Soho Rep's Obie Award winning "An Octoroon" and NYTW's production of Caryl Churchill's "Love and Information" for which Time Out declared "Winters...one to watch out for - zesty, zany and vibrant, she completely reinvents herself with each new character." When Ms. Winters created the role of "Bec" in Amy Herzog's award winning "4000 Miles" at Lincoln Center the New York Times said she was "excellent"; The New York Post called her "pitch perfect"; and Time Out described her "beautifully realized turns". Other performances include the New York Times Critics' pick "Hater" (Ohio Theatre), "Love Song" (59E59), and "Swimming Legs," a self-written one woman show. Ms. Winters has worked at the Country's top regional theatres including Westport Country Playhouse, The Old Globe, Baltimore Center Stage, Alliance, Paper Mill Playhouse, Seattle Rep, Merrimack Rep, and Magic Theatre. TV audiences recognize Ms. Winters from "Elementary," "Law & Order," "Gossip Girl," "Army Wives," and "Ugly Betty." Film credits include indie films Gray Dog, In the Family, Under and the Sundance short Giant. She received a Bay Area Critics Circle nomination and The Seattle Times' Footlight Award. Ms. Winters is a member of the Lincoln Center Theater Young Angels, New York Theatre Workshop Advisory Board (4SBA), Usual Suspects, and The Actor's Center. Show less «
