Riverdale - Season 1 Episode 03: Chapter Three: Body Double
The twisty new series uses teen drama clichés to its advantage. It gives a subversive take on Archie and his friends, exploring small town life, the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale's wholesome facade.
On the third week, Riverdale created Barb from Stranger Things, and it was good. Well, actually, she was good, but the rest of this week's episode? Let's just say one of the Blossom twins is lucky he didn't have to watch it.
The third, and most eventful, episode of Riverdale to date was full of competing storylines that ran the gamut from compelling (the solidifaction of Betty and Veronica's friendship) to yawn-inducing (Archie's quest to become a musician),
Watching as Betty, Veronica, Josie, Cheryl, and the others deal with and challenge that reality adds some serious thematic weight to Riverdale, and confirms that the series continues to grow and deepen as the season rolls on.
