Los Angeles troubleshooter Ray Donovan is asked to solve problems for rich and famous clients, but can't seem to fix the problems caused by his own family. Among his problems: Ray must deal with his father being released early from prison. Meanwhile, Ezra is involved in an accident.
Schreiber looks as comfortable busting heads (with a baseball bat) in the body of a Hollywood "fixer" as he does coddling his spoiled, social-climbing wife and kids.
In all cases, this is one of the smartest series to come around in a while, sharply written with a perfect balance of comedy and tragedy, action and reflection.
The fact that the writers have so completely eschewed originality, and executed the plot so poorly, means that the way the show fails is not even interesting.
