Ted complains that he doesn't really talk about anything with his parents, a fact that is emphasized when he learns that his parents got divorced around nine months before the episode Brunch (2.03) without telling him. He cites this negligence as one motivation for telling his children the full story of how he met their mother.Ted has a younger sister named Heather, who was rebellious and impulsive when she was younger. She once sold Ted's couch and TV for tickets to a Nine Inch Nails concert in Spain. During the season finale we find out that it is (wait for it) Barney and Robin's wedding.
