Her romance with Ted began with the now famous game called Have You Met Ted? After blowing it by not kissing her goodnight at the end of their date, Ted steals a blue french horn that she was admiring from the restaurant where they had dinner, and returns to her apartment to try and make it up to her. However, Ted tells her that he thinks he's falling in love with her, which freaks her out. She decides not to date him anymore, but the two become friends. At the end of season 1, however, Ted decides to go for it and organizes a blue string quartet in her living room to win her over, and when that doesn't work, he does a rain dance on his roof and goes to her apartment to tell her he loves her so much, he made it rain for her. This finally does the trick, and they become a couple. They break up at the end of season 2 after realizing they want different things, but in season 4 she agrees to be his back-up wife if they're not married by the time they're 40. Eventually Ted decides that they have to break this agreement off because he'll still have hope that one day they'll be together then.Robin and Barney:In the first season, Robin becomes Barney's wing-man and bro . After hearing that Robin has some sort of secret which he initially suspects is porn, but turns out to be her pop career, he scours the globe until he finds her music video ''Let's go to the Mall'' through various connections in Malaysia. In season 3, she shows him her second music video, called Sandcastles in the Sand, after which they hook up. However, their dating life deteriorates after a few months, and they begin to drive each other crazy. Robin and Barney split amicably in the middle of season 5, calling their decision to break up two friends getting back together. Their strong friendship started after they ''concealed their crime scene'' when they spilled Thai food in Marshall's car (he has a very strict no-food policy) and blamed it on a homeless guy. Robin kissed Lily once because Lily was complaining that she didn't have the ''great lesbian adventure'' in college.Robin and Marshall:Robin is the most skeptical character in the show and Marshall is a believer . Marshall begins to connect to her when she compliments the hot wings they order to watch the Superbowl. They become closer in season 4 when Marshall takes her to a Minnesota-themed bar because she misses being in Canada at Christmastime, and when she expresses her sadness about having no boyfriend to keep her in New York at that time of year, Marshall assures her that if she ever left New York to go home to Canada, they would all be on the next plane to bring her back because they love her and she belongs with them. He then takes her to a Canadian-themed bar instead, and sings her single Let's Go to the Mall on the karaoke machine. To prove that The Mermaid Theory (eventually any woman, no matter how unattractive, starts to look like a mermaid to a man) has no effect on Marshall, Robin and Marshall go out to a nice dinner alone. Robin gets incredibly drunk, and Marshall realizes that he will always think of her as a friend and nothing more.Robin and Don:Don Frank is Robin's co-anchor.
