Major General Hank Landry (Beau Bridges) is the new commander of the Stargate Command (SGC). He is assigned to this post by President Henry Hayes and was hand-picked by his predecessor Jack O'Neill to succeed him. He is a close friend of O'Neill and George Hammond. He has a penchant for quoting famous generals including as George Washington, Douglas MacArthur and George S. Patton. He is a resolute man, who operates the SGC with a sense of humor, and likes to empower his team.Background: Hank was a Captain in the Vietnam War and while there had a romantic relationship with Kim Lam. They had a daughter, Carolyn, with whom Hank is estranged. Dr. Carolyn Lam is the Stargate Command's new Chief Medical Officer.
