Adele Webber is the wife of Dr. Richard Webber, the chief of surgery at Seattle Grace Hospital. For years, Adele has supported her husband, waiting patiently for the day that he is able to call it a career and actually spend some time with her. Adele married Richard when she was 25 years old and while she always knew that he'd had an affair with Ellis Grey, Meredith's mother, she stayed with him instead of leaving him because she was sure he would end it -- which he did.
