This year, the 13-episode series delves into the culture and the conversations many of us are having. The show is also attempting to discuss contemporary American issues, such as race, in an unfamiliar arena: the multi-cam sitcom.
All in all, "Everybody Cheats" is a great introduction for newcomers and a strong follow-up to the show's first season. With next week's Cosby episode on the horizon, there's plenty of reason to believe that The Carmichael Show will only get better.
It loves the sound of its voices - feisty, witty, opinionated voices, hashing out the issues of our day in long scenes of well-acted, well-written conversation.
We need more shows like The Carmichael Show, and it's nice to see how little it's changed in lieu of success - which isn't meant to sound like a bad thing.
