Orphan Black - Season 4 Episode 10: From Dancing Mice to Psychopaths
It's back to basics for the cult show as the fourth season kicks off in lean, fresh and easier-to-follow fashion. Season 4 opens with Sarah's hard-won refuge in Iceland getting shattered by a Neolution attack...
"From Dancing Mice to Psychopaths" answered questions as well as asked new ones. We were introduced to a new/old Big Bad, gave us a touching reunion, and teased a mysterious Man Behind the Curtain.
Orphan Black's Season 4 finale did a good job of divvying up the humorous and dramatic story beats thanks to a healthy balance of Sarah, Rachel, Cosima and Krystal.
The finale was a bit hit-or-miss, with a bit of a slow beginning, but it picked up by the final third and certainly set the stage for an exciting season ahead.
Sure, they're powerless and separated, but they almost always are, and it's never stopped them before, and they're finally close to the source of their problems.
Orphan Black has never been better. "From Dancing Mice to Psychopaths" contains as much intrigue and mystery as the early episodes of season 1; just when the show seemed to have laid all its cards on the table, it pulls another from out of its sleeve.
Tonight's Orphan Black was the darkest finale of any season yet, with a cascade of brutal cliffhangers. I'm still trying to process it all, and the thought of having to wait a full year for resolution is a tad overwhelming.
Season 4's capper gave us the moment we've been waiting for all year -- Cosima and Delphine, together again! -- plus the fitting dispatch of Evie Cho and Rachel firmly back to the Villain column.
