Homeland - Season 5 Episode 02: The Tradition of Hospitality
Set two years after the previous season. Now, estranged from the CIA and living a self-imposed exile in Berlin, Carrie struggles to overcome her past while working at a private security firm.
Homeland shines brightest when the political intrigue and gunplay illuminate the ways that Carrie and the gang are striving (and often failing) as moral beings.
The relationships between the show's core trio of characters has never been more fractured, and "Hospitality" has me invested in seeing how they go about mending fences.
It was clear that the previously sleepiness was all purposeful, slowly building tension to a wonderful release-and a moment that actually showcased Carrie being smart and effective in her job!
Luckily, there's an underlying theme throughout these two opening episodes that's been electrifying the show so far, and that's the question of loyalty.
