Homeland - Season 5 Episode 11: Our Man in Damascus
Set two years after the previous season. Now, estranged from the CIA and living a self-imposed exile in Berlin, Carrie struggles to overcome her past while working at a private security firm.
Call me crazy, but there's something up with that handbag, which has made so many appearances at key moments in Allison's subplot, that I'm starting to think it's entitled to its own line in the credits.
So much of the work Carrie did before arriving at the station demonstrated the lingering problems the show has created for itself in the final stretch of the season.
With only one episode left before the season's end, "Our Man in Damascus" is less a standalone episode than an hour of increasingly fraught, tension-filled moments barreling toward a climax.
