American Horror Story - Season 6 Episode 03: Chapter 3
A horror drama film of a celebrity producer Ryan Murphy - a former creator of Glee returns for its sixth season. Both physical and psychological horrors affect staff and clients at a frightened colony, focusing on the themes of infidelity, sanity, obsession, haunting and addiction. In this part, Jessica Lange can not come back and cast crew including Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe will be back with the stories related the prior seasons.
American Horror Story: Pig Year returns in its third week with, finally, some explanation of the colonial mythos that's been haunting the Roanoke farmhouse where Shelby, Matt, and Lee have been terrorized.
Chapter 3 is a very busy episode, yet it still manages to be completely dull, which is sad to say about an episode that features feral children, hypnotism sex, and outrageous old-timey (Irish?) accents.
Three episodes into American Horror Story and a clear pattern of callbacks is starting to emerge. FX and its marketing may be calling this the Roanoke season, but I'm inclined to call it American Horror Story: Meta.
I must admit, this has been fun, trying to figure out where all this is going, and if the idea was to keep people guessing and engaged, then in that case, Murphy and company have already succeeded.
There's the introduction of a new character who compensates for the camp humor missing from the series up to now, and we finally get a partial explanation for the spooky goings on in the woods.
