'I DID NOT FORGET YOU' is the debut dramatic short narrative, written and directed by John Farmanesh-Bocca.Director John Farmanesh-Bocca Bio -John Farmanesh-Bocca has spent most of his life as a professional Stage Actor, Theatre Director, Choreographer, Teacher and Producer. Serving as Artistic Director of Shakespeare Santa Monica in Southern California for the past 11 years. He was also a resident actor at Carmel Shakespeare Festival for over a decade. Over this time he was fortunate enough to have acted, produced or directed roughly 55 Shakespeare Productions of 32 of Shakespeare's plays.John began his career as a Dancer in his teens. John had the fortune of dancing in Ballet Company in his youth until his knee was injured badly. John rehabilitated and trained at NYU's Experimental Theatre Wing for Acting and then years later as a director as a Directing Fellow at the Juilliard School Drama Division (03-05). The Juilliard Directing Fellowship accepts only 2 directors every three years.John's childhood was spent traveling through Europe as part of a military family, but primarily grew up in San Antonio and Austin Texas till age 11. As a teen and young adult he lived in Central California (The Monterey Peninsula) while his parents worked for the U.S. military teaching at the Monterey Presidio - The Defense Language Institute. John's training as an Theatre was ostensibly in New York, and sporadically throughout his life in Europe.John is also the founding Artistic Director of the theatre company Not Man Apart - Physical Theatre Ensemble (NMA) - Which was recently named by Backstage Magazine as one of the 13 innovative physical theatre troupes in the world. Their last commissioned piece 'Lysistrata Unbound,' an original adaptation by Eduardo Machado, played at The Getty Villa Theatre Lab and starred Olympia Dukakis.Primarily the last 6 years of the theatre company has mainly produced and created very visceral and athletic plays surrounding the topic of war. Most recently in Los Angeles Ellen McLaughlin's 'Ajax in Iraq.' Which is a stunning parable of the great warrior Ajax and a modern day female combatant in the Iraq War who suffers command rape.The Juilliard Journal recently did an article on John and his theatre company's relationship with war plays. In the U.K. John directed the Edinburgh Fridge Festival audience favorite 'Pericles Redux' (2008) and toured the 'Fringe First Award' winning production 'Wish I Had A Sylvia Path' (2007) which he directed and co-created.John's screen writing and directorial debut in film called 'I Did Not Forget You' starring Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad & Do The Right Thing) is finally ready to make the Festival circuit. A wartime story, it is a 36 minute short produced by Brenda Strong (Desperate Housewives & DALLAS) and END STOP STAR ENTERTAINMENT.I DID NOT FORGET YOU was shot in April of 2014 entirely in Dallas Texas, and was finally completed in July of 2015.John is adapting the novel THE ODDS: A LOVE STORY by Stewart O'Nan into a screenplay for END STOP STAR ENTERTAINMENT.
