Lemon Breeland is the daughter of doctor Brick Breeland in the bucolic town of Bluebell, Alabama. Her hair as yellow as her the fruit with which she shares a name, Lemon is the quintessential Southern belle. In fact, she is part of an elite and rather haughty group of young ladies known as the Belles and charged with keeping the town's Southern heritage and history alive, a job that is taken very, very seriously. She is engaged to attorney George Tucker, a handsome young man who grew up with Lemon.Lemon's seemingly ideal -- i.e. not at all sour -- world is immediately threatened by the arrival of New York surgeon Zoe Hart, who not only competes with her father for the title of top town doc, but also seems to catch the attention of her intended, George. Unrelate to Zoe, but no less disruptive is her complicated relationship with former pro football star and current Bluebell mayor Lavon Hayes. In short, it's not easy being perfect. Not surprisingly, Lemon was the head cheerleader in high school -- just like her mother -- and is a former Miss Cinnamon Cider pageant queen -- again, just like her mother.
