George Tucker is a good-looking young lawyer living and working -- by choice, mind you -- in the town of Bluebell, Alabama. Born and raised in the Bucolic Southern small town, he left for a number of years to work for a big firm in New York City before deciding that the corporate world wasn't for him and moving back home.That experience makes both similar and dissimilar to Zoe Hart, a hard-charging New York surgeon who comes to Bluebell largely against her will to work as a general practitioner. They run into each other quite a bit around town -- almost to the point where it seems like George is somehow planning these meet cutes -- sharing a love of the Big Apple but disagreeing on the merits of Bluebell as a permanent residence.George's life is further complicated by his engagement to quintessential Southern belle Lemon Breeland. Lemon and George were childhood sweethearts who might not be as close as their official relationship status suggests.
