Jake is a student at McKinley High School and Puck's half-brother. He first comes in contact with New Directions in Season 4 when Will holds open auditions to replace graduated members.It is not hard to see that Jake is related to Puck. He has a fairly large chip on his shoulder and is quick to anger when frustrated. When Will stops Jake's audition he immaturely knocks over a microphone and storms off the stage, thinking he should have been allowed to finish. Just like his half-brother, Jake comes to New Directions with quite a bit of growing up to do.Unlike Puck, music seems to come more naturally to Jake, who has a very strong singing voice. He is passionate about people but is occasionally at a loss for how to express himself.Jake is the result of an affair between his mother and Puck's father, who was married at the time. This creates tension between the mothers of the two characters.
