Gordon is a great vampire hunter, he mainly hunts vampires because his sister was killed by one when he was younger. He becomes a deadly enemy to the Winchester boys when he finds out that Sam is going to become the leader of hell's army. He attempts to eliminate Sam twice, but fails both times and in the end is turned into what he hates most and is killed by Sam.Though depicted, and rightfully so, as the Evil hunter, Gordon was a good man. Delusional and crazy from his experiences, even called Bad News by fellow hunter Bobby Singer, his intentions were pure. He did indeed wish to kill Sam, but only because he truly believed that Sam was the bringer of the Apocalypse. As the series progressed, it was arguably shown that he was correct. However, in his first encounter with the young Winchester brothers, he was in a way adopted by Dean as a father figure and Dean took to his no-questions-asked approach to hunting vampires. However, Dean eventually realized Gordon is Batsh*t insane and abandoned him.
