The Daleks are the armored, mutated descendants of the Kaleds of the planet Skaro and are hated and feared throughout time and space. They are the oldest enemies of the Doctor, and fought the Time Lords in the Last Great War, which nearly wiped out both races.Background: The Daleks are the product of the Thousand Year War between the Kaled and the Thal races. They appear robotic, but are cyborgs with an organic body encased in a shell of Dalekanium metal armor. Characterized by having one human eye. They share information using a telepathic network known as the Pathweb. Their means of vision is a dome with lights known as luminosity dischargers. The creatures inside their armor are almost always mutant Kaleds, which the doctor once called little green blobs bonded in polycarbide armor. They are roughly the size of a salt shaker, with a single mechanical eyestalk in a rotating dome, with a gunstick and manipulator arm. Their most famous battle cry is Exterminate! Their eye piece is their most vulnerable area.
