Chloe Sullivan's mother left her in her childhood because she was put into an asylum. Upon meeting Clark Kent, she kissed him, believing he wanted her, and thought they might as well get it out of the way. She is a journalist and loyal friend of Clark Kent. She was a reporter for the Smallville High Torch, and was editor as a junior and senior.Chloe has had her share of Wall of Weird moments: for instance, being kidnapped by a cop, while Lana had visions of such happenings. Chloe's interest in Clark during high school, on top of ensuing jealousy he was always after Lana, led her to investigate Clark during her junior year, with a Daily Planet column offer from Lionel Luthor. When she realized what a snake Lionel was, she refused to investigate for him; and once Chloe became a freshman in college, she got a basement-level job at the Daily Planet. Since the beginning, Chloe has always been intrigued by the mysteries surrounding her good friend Clark. Upon discovering the truth behind his secret (that he is from another planet), she has then on risked her life for her friend to preserve the secret, including occasionally being under the pressure of Lex Luthor. Over the years, Chloe has become Clark's most loyal friend and confidant outside of his parents.Later in life she discovers she has also been affected by the meteor shower; the meteors give her the ability to be able to restore life, or transfer pain from someone else to her. So far in all of the cases, she has been able to recover, but she remains skeptical. At one point she wanted to get rid of it; among her research she learned of a doctor who may have been able to help, thus leading her to seek out his help. However, the doctor was in this for his own needs, and Chloe almost found herself killed; fortunately Clark arrived in time to save her.
