Nicholas Kadi, (birth name Nameer El-Kadi), is grandson of Nuri El-Kadi who rode with T.E. Lawrence (Lawrence Of Arabia) against the Ottoman Empire. His father, Nizar El-Kadi represented Iraq at the United Nations in the late fifties. Nicholas' mother, Marjorie El-Kadi is an award-winning television host and actress. Nicholas began his career with the New York Children's Theater. He is a graduate of Adelphi University, New York; with a Magna Cum Laude degree in Performing Arts and a graduate of The Decroux Mime Studios in Paris. He was a participant at the 15th annual Yale Drama festival in 1970 with Pillory theatre. Nicholas was a recipient of a C.E.T.A. grant at La Mama E.T.C. in New York. While at La Mama, Nicholas taught movement to actors from 1976-1979. He is a recipient of an Obie award in 1980 for his work in "The Writer's Opera at Theater Of The New City in New York. He appeared in countless productions in New York and worked with directors Tom O'Horgan, John Vaccarro and Andre Serban. Nicholas employed his mime skills portraying a talking gorilla in "George Of the Jungle". This was his first experience with Henson's Creature Shop, and Nicholas has worked with the Creature Shop for many years developing their motion capture system and appearing in countless productions. Nicholas has appeared in many commercials,most notably as a construction worker for orbit gum, and a caveman for bud light.
