Monique Edwards is an actor, singer, director and humanitarian who has steadily built a solid reputation in television, film, stage and commercials.Most recently, Ms. Edwards completed filming episodes of the new CBS hit series Battle Creek, starring Josh Duhamel & Dean Winters, Freeform's critically acclaimed drama The Fosters as well as TNT's long running flagship drama Rizzoli & Isles.Prior to that she landed a recurring role on How I Met Your Mother and appeared in The Social Network as well as the sleeper Indie film To Save a Life. Ms. Edwards has also guest starred on many top rated shows such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Lie to Me, Without a Trace,Following a 13-year volunteer relationship with the youth-arts organization group Voices in Harmony. Monique traveled to Northern Uganda to work with youth in war-torn areas. That work was chronicled in the award-winning documentary After Kony: Staging Hope. Subsequently, Ms. Edwards traveled to Washington D.C. with Resolve Uganda to lobby on behalf of peace in Northern Uganda.Earlier in her career, Monique worked on many acclaimed shows such as The X-Files, Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond and a Peabody-award winning episode of Boston Public. She became more generally known, though, by her recurring roles as Nurse Laurel Canyon on the critically acclaimed Chicago Hope and as Teena Davis in Steven Bochco's Philly.In 2014, Ms. Edwards had the west coast debut of her acclaimed cabaret show Swallow The Moon at the legendary Gardenia Room in Los Angeles.Her stage credits include If All the Sky Were Paper with Annette Bening, Gary Cole, Common, Laura Dern, Jason Hall and Brad Hall, which was performed at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Los Angeles (Additional performances were held at the Kennedy Center & the Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara, CA.), My Child: Mothers of War with Frances Fisher, Laura Ceron, Melina Kanakaredes, Mimi Rogers, Jean Smart; the award winning Adam and Eva Maria and The Emerald Society. She received a nomination for Best Actress from the ADA for her work in the latter.
