Born in Quebec City, Jean moved to Boston in his early twenties where he received a scholarship with the Boston Ballet in 1981. He moved to New York City the next year where he focused on acting and soon was part of the Lower East Side performing scene. Since then, Jean Brassard has been building a career on stage, television and film since his arrival. 1994 found him game enough to hold a 5 year stint on a two-man team of French commentators for the wildly theatrical conceptual sports juggernaut- The World Wrestling Federation. He has been the New York-US correspondent on Radio-Canada's television show: La fosse aux lionnes. He is the voice of audio books, cartoon characters, perfume & cologne commercials on 2 continents. He appeared as Admiral d'Estaing in the acclaimed HBO mini series John Adams. TV credits also include: L&O, L&O: CI, The Sopranos, Sex and the City among others. His first major co-starring role was in David Garrett's screenplay/directorial debut, Ten Stories Tall. He has just received a Manhattan "Outstanding Tribute" Bistro Award 2012 for the homage he co-wrote with and was directed by David Krueger called "The Kid From Paris - Jean Brassard Sings Yves Montand."
