At a time when there are dozens of worthwhile shows on television, Two And A Half Men delivers nothing we haven't seen before. Even what it does well, other shows do better, without all the tedious baggage.
In almost every scene, the writers produce great punch lines, which they then top. But they wisely mix the zingers with more subtle, character-driven jokes and physical comedy.
With Sheen - who truly gives a fine performance, full of sly glances, artful double takes, and more subtle line readings than most of his costars - a subtext of danger laces the show with some suspense.
