In the beginning of series 3, John, Lestrade and those close to Sherlock are reeling after Sherlocks apparent death and are trying to get on with their lives. After his return, Mycroft looks for Sherlock';;s help with finding a terror cell. The much praised, multi-award-winning drama Sherlock, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, returns for an eagerly awaited third series of three, 90-minute films - The Empty Hearse, The Sign Of Three and His Last Vow.
The Season 3 premiere certainly felt like part one of a bigger story and I'm excited to see where our favourite detectives take us from here. Welcome back Mr. Holmes. Welcome back indeed.
As sly and quirky as ever, Sherlock continues to pursue a fiendishly clever trail, taking Holmes into a world of smartphones, DNA testing and state-of-the-art forensics.
The greatest satisfaction of this thoroughly satisfying season opener was confirmation that Sherlock co-creator Mark Gatiss (who penned the episode) knows us fans better than we know ourselves.
Some will dislike how Sherlock answers the question of the false death. Others may find fault in the increased humor of the season -- and it's often very funny.
