A group of scientists from the 'Centers for Disease Control and Prevention' led by Dr. Alan Farragut are traveling to the Arctic to investigate an outbreak. There, they discover the secret about bio-weapons that could transform human into zombies. Now the fate of entire human race depends on their acts.
You like this kind of thing or you don't, and I don't, particularly, but Helix is very involving, giving us characters to care about even in the midst of so much necessary setup.
It is thoroughly creepy and made even more so by upbeat counterpoints like a sound system playing Dionne Warwick's "Do You Know the Way to San Jose?" over and over.
Helix is initially involving, but it gradually loses energy as we realize we have a long slog ahead before all the secrets are revealed and the plot resolved.
