Sure, the "Bachelor" is a pretty moldy target for humor but "Burning" does so many other things right that it needs to be shouted about from a mountaintop.
Capturing the spirit and the filmmaking styles of The Bachelor and its ilk in less than nine minutes is only part of Burning Love's goals. It's quickly identifying what works about these characters that does the heaviest lifting, comedy-wise.
Marino, who also directs, knows this formula oh-so-well. He has the crane shots down; he knows just how to make the audience smarter than the contestants... The series is easily one of the funniest things on the Internet
Burning Love is neither the first, nor the best television series to spoof the reality romance competition, but it's the only show to fully commit to the concept and wring all the laughs out of it.
