The BFFs are back, and venturing into bolder, 'Broad'-er territory with their third season. Abbi and Ilana are still total messes, but it’s getting a lot less cute for those around them, in a way that feels ripped from life.
Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer's Comedy Central series enters its third season as on point as ever, with a few early episodes that are bound to become classics.
Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson's 'Broad City' deserves to be categorized under the same rubric as 'Seinfeld' and 'Louie' in regards to giving the city life a unique flavor that emits from its creators.
Like a packed piñata of absurdity, each episode rains unforeseen treats, from physical pranks to existential banter to all manner of sexual exuberance. It's all smartly visualized around town and briskly stitched together.
What has always made Broad City both appealing and potentially alienating is its commitment to mocking the lives of (mostly white, young) New Yorkers. That doesn't change in season three.
