The story in a film set in the 20th century. It is about the life of aristocratic families. Lillian and Beatrice uncover suddenly their problems of their husband which makes they determine to get divorced.
It's very funny and very odd, with production values reminiscent of Drunk History, and the same feeling of "Oh boy, they seem like they're having a really good time" that that series engenders.
That they're mostly mean and stupid, though, doesn't make for the highest quality comedy, though and a pilot involving Helen Keller devolves into a brawl. I imagine every episode will follow suit into similar shambles.
Gleefully absurd, Comedy Central's scripted comedy Another Period sends up period dramas (think: Downton Abbey) with humor reminiscent of Reno 911! or Monty Python.
It's a hot 'n' heavy time for period dramas. Comedy Central's latest, a well-timed period parody, mixes corsets and classism with some old-fashioned sex and silliness.
Another Period also skewers gender politics (and classism and the cult of celebrity), but the jokes are not particularly charged, aiming for -- and granted, usually reaching -- bawdiness, not brilliance.
