American Horror Story - Season 7 Episode 10: Charles (Manson) in Charge
An anthology series centering on different characters and locations, including a house with a murderous past, an asylum, a witch coven, a freak show, a hotel, a farmhouse in Roanoke and a cult.
I've actually found Ally's gradual transformation from sobbing mess to certified badass to be well-explained and extremely satisfying. But the idea that she has fully turned to the dark side, and isn't just playing a long con with Kai, is most intriguing.
Whatever the case, this season has been one wild ride, that's for sure. I'd have to say it's my favorite since "Coven" on the whole, and arguably the most cohesive, "Roanoke" notwithstanding.
We're almost to the end of American Horror Story: Cult and the politically-themed season has become more unpredictable than ever. Tuesday's penultimate episode delivered a jaw-dropping twist.
It seems kind of fitting that the penultimate episode of AHS: Cult, a season that seemed less like an echo or reflection of the 2016 election and more like a piece obsessed with it, aired on Election Day 2017.
It's really difficult to root for any of the characters by now, as they've all played a hand in their own misery. One thing is for sure: this close to the end, we're unlikely to see any kind of meaningful sociopolitical commentary based on the theme.
Cult sputtered and stalled here right at the end of the season, with one more episode to go, as Kai's story became overly murky and his motivations difficult to track.
As usual, Tuesday's installment of American Horror Story came filled with twists and turns and, owing to this date's specific special occasion-the almost-anniversary of the 2016 presidential election.
